Neil Bindemann graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1988 with a BSc Hons in Immunology and subsequently completed a PhD in Neurobiology at University College London in 1993. He has since pursued a career in healthcare education and communications, working with various not-for-profit organisations and commercial companies to design and develop programmes/projects aimed at supporting the communication between patients and healthcare professionals across the NHS. Working across primary and secondary care, he has several years of experience in networking and building relations with leading UK and international healthcare professionals as well as key contacts in the commercial sector.
Neil set up Innervate Ltd in 2001. During this time Neil has worked with many healthcare and medical clients, setting up and running a number of special interest groups, including the Primary Care Neurology Society, PCOS UK and the Community Therapist Network. As part of this work, Neil has been instrumental in stimulating various healthcare, multimedia initiative’s, the latest being the creation of Lifepsychol®, a project aimed at supporting the quality of life of people with chronic illness.
Simon’s career in design started in 2005 when he joined the Medical Research Council as Networking Assistant, promoting pan-European research projects. As well as liaising with policy makers and scientific bodies, this involved promotion and marketing of scientific projects including designing and maintaining the project websites, for which he developed a keen interest. He became a dedicated advocate of clean, accessible design for the internet.
As Creative Projects Manager for Innervate Ltd, Simon has provided graphic design and project management for a diverse list of clients focused mainly in the healthcare but also includes work with charities, societies, and the design, music and sports industries. His work includes full branding, corporate identity and marketing projects in both online and print media. He has a passion for intelligent design and providing distinct, intuitive, ‘effortless’ design solutions, whether in a logo, website or cross-media campaign.
Dominic started his career as Software Engineer in the Telecoms industry gaining expert development knowledge and working around the World on many and varied projects for large Telecoms companies, including longer term assignments in the US with Sprint and the Netherlands with Rabobank. Mainly working on ground breaking network monitoring systems for Network Operation Centres but gaining experience in many and varied roles. Always an early adopter to upcoming technologies, he was personally responsible for delivering the first large scale network monitoring system written in Java for Cable and Wireless’ corporate data network which is still in use today.
By the late 90’s he was running large development teams and gaining experience in Project Management and business process improvement. This led to a wide variety of project based roles across many industries, Project Managing large scale development projects and system role outs in such fields and Banking, Manufacture and Healthcare.
Since 2002, Dominic has been focused on the New Media and Healthcare industries finding ways to gain competitive advantage by improving processes and incorporating new technologies into companies work practises. This has included stints working with large corporate entities such as Trinity Mirror, as the Programme Director for their Business Intelligence initiatives, and as a Project Manager and Business Analyst on many projects for companies large and small. Over the years he has also gained a great deal of experience in the e-learning/CBT working with many Learning Management Systems and processes.
Gareth has pursued a career in software development since 2003 and has spent the majority of this time developing online training and communication tools, primarily for the Pharmaceutical industry. Gareth’s experience also extends into management platforms, live medical event multimedia, offline media such as CDROM, desktop and mobile applications.
Starting in Java, Gareth started building portals to support clinical trials, speeding up the communication channels and providing a central place for investigators to locate the latest documents. Gareth then moved to the open source Content Management System (CMS) OpenCms where he developed custom components that bolted into OpenCms to enhance the user experience.
Recently Gareth has shifted his focus to the Microsoft .net environment and producing Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) that provides desktop characteristics to websites and turning plain data into vivid interfaces where users find it easier to understand the information that is being presented.
Richard started his career with the Department of Trade and Industry as a database developer where he spent 2 years gaining an insight into the fundamentals of databases and how a public sector organisation works. He then joined The Multimedia Corporation (BBC's ITU), working on several interactive projects including Lasercast, a casting directory of all the actors and actresses in the UK, which later became the spotlight CDROM and website. The team received a British Interactive Multimedia Award and developed a training system for live TV editing.
After this, he worked for a number of Multimedia companies in many sectors gaining rounded experience in the different facets for this up and coming technology. By 1998, Richard was ready to start his own specialist multimedia company and Vision 360 was born. This company specialised in multimedia for the Healthcare sector and worked on many interesting projects with both agencies and direct to Pharmaceutical companies, with particular concentration on innovative and new approaches to CME and exhibition work.
Over the years he has built a large network of contacts in the Pharmaceutical industry and is a well known contributor to policy making groups and think tanks. Richard is also an inventor and holds a number of Patents including a ground breaking system for distributing electronic copyrighted documents to delegates at exhibitions and trade shows.
